Covid-19
Please ensure that you are free of Covid-19 symptoms upon arrival. If you are in doubt, please have a Covid-19 test prior to undertaking travel. Your travel insurance should cover the cost of your trip, should you need to cancel at the last minute due to a positive test result and we are happy to work with you to rebook your stay.
Our caretaker will meet you when you arrive at Il Ronco and will greet you wearing a face mask. We ask that our guests arrive wearing masks and keep them on until our caretaker departs. He will take you on a socially distanced tour of the house.
Hand sanitiser is available as you come into the house. Please use it on arrival, before you start the tour of the house and any time you return to Il Ronco from trips to the shops or any cultural activities.
There are three more houses on the hill which are inhabited by members of our family. As a courtesy to them, please refrain from walking close to the houses or touching furniture or plants in their gardens.
our covid-19 cleaning protocols
Our housekeeper lives on-site and looks after the daily cleaning of il Ronco's communal areas. Towels and bed-linens are changed once a week. If you'd prefer a different schedule or would like to include daily bedroom cleaning or even someone to do the ironing, it's no problem, just ask and we will provide you with a quotation for the extra services you require.
Since the start of the Pandemic, we have extended the time between rentals to 48 hours to ensure that the whole house can be not only cleaned but also disinfected, with particular attention to hard surfaces that are often touched, following Italian hospitality sector recommendations.
All linen is washed at a high temperature and hand sanitiser is available for our guests at the entrance to the house and in the kitchen. We follow a 5-step protocol to keep our guests and our staff safe.
STEP 1: Prepare
We have extended the time between rentals to 48 hours to ensure that the whole house can be ventilated properly before and during cleaning.
We only use disinfectants approved by the Italian regulatory agencies for use against Covid-19.
Our house keeper is in charge of all the cleaning and washes and disinfects his hands, as well as wearing a mask and gloves while cleaning.
STEP 2: Clean
All inside areas and rooms at Il Ronco are swept, vacuumed, dusted or mopped before sanitising.
All dishes and linens are washed at the highest heat setting possible.
All hard surfaces such as tables are cleaned with soap and water.
STEP 3: Sanitise
We sanitise high-touch items, such as doorknobs and TV remotes with anti-bacterial cleaning products.
In every room, high-touch surfaces are cleaned with a approved disinfectant spray and allowed to air-dry.
STEP 4: Check
Our caretaker and on-site housekeeper follow carefully prepared cleaning checklists to ensure proper cleaning of each room.
The caretaker refers to the best practices in each room-by-room checklist to make sure that all areas are cleaned and sanitised between each stay.
STEP 5: Reset
To help prevent cross-contamination, each room is fully cleaned and sanitised before our next guests arrive. In addition, we require our staff to:
Wash hands and replace gloves before replacing guest supplies, linen, and cleaning kits.
Safely dispose of, or wash, all cleaning supplies and protective gear.
Not re-enter a room once it has been sanitised.
Empty or clean all cleaning equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaner, microfibre cloths) between each guests' stay with us.
